Calculated Geometry Values
3D BIM model objects have an additional property set listed in the properties panel. The property values in this property set were calculated by Trimble Connect during the cloud processing when the model was uploaded.
Calculated Geometry Values
The Calculated Geometry Values calculation is based on a generic algorithm which calculates the Volume and Area of the object based on the polygon representation of the object geometry. The calculation is purely based on the 3D graphics geometry presentation of the object and it does not take into account the type of the object (if it is a window, beam, slab, etc.)
It should be noted that the “Calculated Geometry Values” does not represent the actual base quantities that are needed for takeoff calculations. Those specific base quantities are expected to be exported into the 3D BIM Model by the authoring application during the model creation in the original model authoring application.
The "Calculated Geometry Values" are for informational purposes only, and they are not to be used as part of project take-off and quantity calculations without consideration of the applicability in the specific quantity calculation scenario.
